Dr. Toshiharu Ninomiya

Toshiharu Ninomiya is a nephrologist in Japan. He is a professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kyushu University, Japan from 2016. He is a chief investigator of the Hisayama Study from 2016. Previously. He had international experience working for clinical trials as a Visiting Research Fellow (2006-2009) and Senior Research Fellow (2013-2014) in the George Institute for International Health, Australia. One of his current major research interests is to explore genomic and environmental risk factors for dementia. He is also chief investigator of the new project of multi-site, prospective cohort studies of dementia in Japan (JPSC-AD study), in which DNA samples from community-dwelling elderly people have been also collected.
